November 10-11 - At TI's 2004 MSP430 Advanced Technical Conference

Pumpkin's president Andrew E. Kalman will be presenting the course entitled "Hardware and Software Design of an MSP430-based Microsatellite using an RTOS." More information on the microsatellite in question can be found at www.cubesatkit.com.

The PDF version of the presentation is available here. Details include the design of low-power, level-shifting isolation circuitry for use with the MSP430, as well as design benefits realized through using Pumpkin's Salvo RTOS.

 
October 18 - Keil ARM Development Tools certified for use with Salvo

We've certified Keil's ARM® Development Tools v1.4b and later for use with Salvo.

October 17 - Salvo for ARM in Prerelease Availability

Salvo is now available for ARM® ARM7TDMI® 32-bit microcontrollers. Initial ports are to the Keil CARM and IAR ARM compilers.

ARM7TDMI® implementations like the single-chip Philips LPC21xx with 16KB RAM offer excellent upgrade paths for existing Salvo customers who are using 8- and 16-bit single-chip microcontrollers.

Salvo for ARM® is the first v3.3 Salvo release.

 
June - GE (China) Adopts Salvo

General Electric (China) has begun using Salvo on PICmicro® MCU targets.

GE (USA) has been a Pumpkin customer for years now, employing Salvo in locomotives and medical/healthcare devices.

 
April 28 - Libraries for IAR Embedded Workbench MSP430 V3 Now Available

Just in time for TI's worldwide 430 day, Salvo libraries for the newest version of IAR's Embedded Workbench MSP430 are now available in the Salvo Lite, LE and Pro download areas.

Salvo users should download the appropriate salvo-lite|le|pro-msp430-v3.2.3-b.zip archive and follow the directions in the included readme.txt file.

 
March 29 - DO-178B (FAA) Validation Suite for Salvo

In response to repeated requests for a DO-178B certification solution for Salvo, Pumpkin is proud to announce a new certificartion partnership with Validated Software.

Salvo users can now obtain a complete DO-178B validation suite for full FAA/JAA certification directly from Validated at very competitive prices.

February 23, 2004 - First Salvo v3.2.4 Releases

Salvo v3.2.4 has been released, with the ARClite microRISC and Atmel AVR and MegaAVR distributions being the first ones supported.

This is the first Salvo release to fully support IAR's AVR C compiler, both with Embedded Workbench v2 and v3.

 
January 16, 2004 - Updates, Upcoming Releases

New libraries compatible with Rowley's just-released CrossWorks for MSP430 v1.2 are now available in the download areas in a zip'd archive.

Also, the Salvo port to IAR's AVR C compiler is nearing completion.

 
January 9, 2004 - CubeSat Kit Unveiled at Cal Poly

Pumpkin's CubeSat Kit was formally unveiled at the inaugural Stanford / Cal Poly CubeSat Technology Exchange.
