Hi Anna.

When starting out with Salvo, we've found that it's best to:

1) Open and build an existing project (e.g. salvoexex1sysaex1lite.mcp).

2) Once that works, then try to build your own project as per the App Notes, etc.

You're facing two problems, though:

The first problem is that the PICC demo version does not support defining symbols, nor include paths. See our App Note AN-17 for a workaround.

The second problem you've encountered is that Microchip changed the plug-ins in MPLAB v6.6, and it affected the Salvo projects that use PICC and PICC-18. We posted an interim solution on our forums at

Using this information, you can build a project using MPLAB v6.6 and later, and the PIC demo compiler.

hello,I am a new user with the SALVO, and I am using the MPLAB6.60 and PICC-DEMO8.05, can the salvo work in this enviroment? because I have trouble with compiling the ex1 in an-1, the information as below:

Error[000] D:salvoexex1main.h 222 : #error: Undefined Salvo test system (SYS*). Definition required.
Error[000] D:salvoincsalvo.h 343 : Cannot open include file "salvocfg.h"
Halting build on first failure as requested.
