Salvo for 8051 works on all 8051 variants, including all of those from SiLabs. You do need Keil's C(x)51 compiler ...

See http://www.pumpkininc.com/content/doc/manual/rm-kc51.pdf for library nomenclature.

There was a lite version of the compiler/assembler with the silabs IDE.
My question is I am new to C and want to know if there is anything in the /lib of Salvo lite that came with the IDE that can address my needs, where can I get a viewer for the lib functions? If I get the prototype running I get enough money to buy the small version of salvo for this project.

Salvo 3 has all the different variants of the Salvo libraries, so all of Salvo's basic functionality is included (only some esoteric stuff is not). Use a -t config library to have everything (events, delays, timeouts, etc.).

Keil's librarian (look in the bin directory) can report on library contents if you want to peek. But all you really need is a successful build of a Salvo project, and then you can call all the various Salvo services.
