linker error when building AN-4 project

Postby tman » Tue Jun 10, 2003 10:36 am

Hi all,

I'm trying to build a project following the example in AN-4. I'm using salvo-pro(v3.x) with mplab-c18(v2.20) and working under mplab ide (v6.20). The build fails at a link stage and complains thatr it cannot find the definition of OSCtxSw() in main.o . I've thoughly checked to ensure that I included in the project all the listed files. Has anybody experienced a similar problem and can help. I'll be very grateful for that.

Hello.

If you are using MPLAB-C18, you need to be looking at AN-12, not AN-4.

However, AN-12 references a module portmcc.c which has been renamed portpic18.c. So be sure to include salvosrcportpic18.c as a node in your MPLAB + MPLAB-C18 project. OSCtxSw() for MPLAB-C18 resides in salvosrcportpic18.c.

Hello.

Please also see the new Salvo Compiler Reference Manual for MPLAB-C18. Pay particular attention to the "Incompatible Optimizations" section.

Hello.

I have updated AN-12 to reflect this change ...

Also, we do not yet formally support MPLAB v6, though we have many users who are building Salvo projects with MPLAB v6. Should you have any other difficulties building a Salvo project in MPLAB v6, please see AN-22 for additional information.
