medium runtime model

For issues specific to TI's MSP430 line of ultra-low-power microcontrollers, including compilers (e.g. Quadravox AQ430), IDEs (e.g. IAR Embedded Workbench) and development tools (e.g. TI MSP-FET430 Flash Emulation Tool).

I decided to forgo the library route and just do a build using the salvo source. After making a few changes to the source files (see post in "errors compiling salvomem.c" thread) it seems to work.

My project uses the medium runtime model, but it appears that the Salvo libraries were built using the small model. Is there any way to get pre-built libraries that use the medium model?

Which version of the compiler are you using?

Where are you setting a memory model for the MSP430?

I am using IAR compiler version 4.10E. The memory model is set in the project options/ General Options/Target/Data Model.

No immediate plans to support that ... however, MSP430X (20-bit addressing) is supported, so you can use that in source-code builds.

If you want to build your own (custom) libraries, if you have Cygwin installed, you should not have much difficulty modifying the makefiles to add custom switches.

Note that the pre-existing Salvo libraries for MSP430X are likely compiled (using the older compiler) for a proper 20-bit address space ... but the compiler may be complaining nonetheless.
