bool type variables

For issues specific to TI's MSP430 line of ultra-low-power microcontrollers, including compilers (e.g. Quadravox AQ430), IDEs (e.g. IAR Embedded Workbench) and development tools (e.g. TI MSP-FET430 Flash Emulation Tool).

bool type variables

Postby FatKid » Wed Aug 10, 2005 12:29 am

I have yet another stupid question. I am using Rowley compiler. It chokes anytime I declare a bool type variable.
if I write:

bool test = false;
it states:

found 'test', expecting ';'

Can anybody help me or tell me why? The code I am porting over from a different environment has several bool type variables and I can make it work but it is just driving me crazy as to why? (I have to change them to unsigned int)

I'm pretty sure that the boolean type was only formalized in C++ ... your best bet in C is probably to #define that type to a supported type.

Rowley has very good tech support -- I'd suggest you ping them for a solution.
