CubeSat Kit Radio Module?

Postby aek » Sun Nov 14, 2004 3:04 am

Someone asked:
quote:
Dear Sir,

There's a radio module in your cubesat kit
pictures, but I couldn't find any specification
of it. Is this an amateur radio unit or just
an FCC certified license-free radio?

Cheers,

The Microhard MHX series of wireless transceivers are plug-in-compatible with the CubeSat Kit.

You can find more information at http://www.microhardcorp.com.

Most CubeSat Kit users have chosen the MHX-2400, a 2.4GHz spread-spectrum 1W transceiver with an effective baud rate of around 87kbps. Microhard also makes a 900MHz version (MHX-900), and have just released a new model, the MHX-920.

We have also developed an adapter which would allow you to use the MaxStream http://www.maxstream.net 9XStream modems in the CubeSat Kit or as demo transceivers in the lab when developing the CubeSat Kit.

I forgot to mention that Microhard and MaxStream modems can be purchased through us.
