Launch Switch

Postby BlackKnight » Mon Mar 09, 2009 7:14 am

We just placed the EPS on top of our developmental Board, but we are having trouble activating the headers(H1/H2) without shorting the pins. Our developmental board has a RBF and Launch capability, but for some reason they are not operating. Is there a certain way to turn on the two switches?

They are "not operating" because they are not wired ... switches in the CubeSat Kit are delivered in an unwired state so that users have complete flexibility in terms of how they wish to wire them.

For use with the Clyde Space series of EPS components, the switches should be wired directly to the solder terminals located next to the switches on the FM430 / Flight Motherbord (FMB). There's a 1-to-1 correspondence between the switch terminals (C, NO, NC) and the terminals on the PCB.

Use 18 gauge stranded or 16 gauge solid (copper) wire. We have found that solid wire is easier for the RBF Switch, and stranded is easier for the Deployment Switch.
