Lite vs tiny

I'm comparing the Lite version of Salvo vs the tiny version and find listed that the tiny version does not support "system tick services", I have looked at the user manual and can not find any reference to "system
tick services", would you please explain (briefly) what these are? Are these the support for the wait timeouts that are missing in the tiny version? Thanks.
